In Japanese, the first anniversary of a persons death is called isshuuki(いっしゅうき / 一周忌) – yesterday was my dad’s. I find it very hard to believe a year has passed already, I spent most of the day keeping busy to make it pass quick. My mum and sister went down to Cornwall, I’m glad they were around family seeing as I couldn’t be there, I’m sure many glasses were raised in dad’s name!

Struggling to find words, but I guess these milestones will always be difficult. Here’s a video of dad and Uncle Edwin playing together – as they did for over 40 years. Dad’s the camera-shy one on the left.
