Monday was my last day off for the Obon holiday, and the weather was terrible! Luckily I had an indoor plan, Gundam World 2015!
The exhibition was out in the port town area, same as the Attack on Titan one last year, entry was ¥900 but you get a nice souvenir ticket and some free Build Fighters Try cards. You can also pay an additional ¥1000 for a photo inside a replica RX-78 cockpit, but I decided not to.
First up, the classic timeline wall! Bringing us from 1978 to present day.
Next up was the first of a number of 1/10 scale models, this one depicting the first time Amuro pilots a Gundam! Rise, Gundam!
Huge wall of all the leading Mobile Suits to date, brilliant artwork!
Toys! Classic bits and bobs.
This mask and gun set look like a lot of fun 🙂
I like how ridiculous this Gundam and G-Fighter look, conpletely different to the actual design. Saturday morning Gundam.
Old LCD games, I used to have a bunch of similar ones(not Gundam of course), wish I’d held onto them!
Gundam LPs. Can only imagine the great artwork inside those jackets…
Gunpla section! Detailing the 35 year history of the hobby.
Original 1980 RX-78 Gundam kit, released in 1980.
PG 1/60 RX-78
We’ve come a long way…
Turned a corner only to be greeted by a giant Zaku Head! this area was dedicated to Zeon, mostly Char.
All about the Red Comet across the years.
A selection of his mobile suits from the Mobile Suit Gundam original series.
Ran into this fellow in a small bar area…
Meet the Zabis, you can even sit in the throne, was quite comfy.
The next 1/10 statue, Z-Gok!
It’s the only choice for underwater combat.
There was another small Gunpla section next, featuring key mobile suits from each series, here are the G-Gundam suits, not Mexico or Holland 🙁
More fantastic 1/10 statues!
Strike Freedom(Gundam Seed)
Gundam Exia(Gundam 00)
Gundam Age-1(Gundam Age), I really like this suit!
G-Self(Gundam Reconguista in G), tried to get into this show but couldn’t follow it.
Gundam Unicorn and Banshee. Despite being 1/10 like all the others, these things were HUGE!
Gundam Build Fighters Try! Pics of the pilots and their Gunpla, I love this show, the designs give me tons of ideas.
Small section for capital ships, was a bit hard to take pics through the glass but this White Base had some great detail.
That was pretty much it, on the way out there was a quiz to test your Gundam knowledge and a display of character figurines, the kind of one you generally see in UFO catchers. I have a Marida Cruz I won in a Sunkus raffle years ago 🙂
Exit through the gift shop!
Haro cookies and M’Quve pots with snacks!
Metallic HG Red Frame(flight unit) and Blue Frame 2nd, they looked nice but at ¥3000 each I didn’t bite.
Neon Bearguy was pretty great too!
After a browse, I dropped by the Gundam Cafe van and tried Jaburo iced coffee and a Harodora – Haro dorayaki pancake with custard, both were pretty good!
This was definitely the best Gundam related thing I’ve been to after Gundam Front Tokyo, the range of exhibits was fantastic and photos were allowed throughout which was very refreshing.
Gundam World 2015 is at the ATC Osaka, ITM building 2f until August 31st, head to Trade Center Mae tram station and just follow the signs!

I’m sat here reading this whilst drinking from my Char’s Custom mug! 🙂
Nice that you could take your photos without any hassle! Got some great pics here, by the way.
Were there a lot of people there? It didn’t seem too crowded in a couple of your photos. I went to the manga thing in Tokyo recently and it was chaos!
Really like the look of some of those old LCD games.
看看!
Dang dude, love the content. You gonna do additional content to the blog. Gundam is good times, but I dig the Japanese paper shop post as well. Hook us up here!!
