MG MBF-P02KAI Gundam Astray Red Frame – Leg

MG Gundam Astray Red Frame – Leg

Continuing my construction of the MG Astray Red Frame Kai, this time building a leg.

The quality of this kit continues to impress, the legs have alot of detail and articulation. Obviously that means a whole tons of pieces as you can see below.

Red Frame Kai - Leg Parts
This is all just for one leg

Red Frame Kai - Knee Joint
This is the knee joint, lots of pivoting points for the armour to connect to, and a little piston too.

Knee Plug
Never seen these before.. the indent in the center of this piece has a small plug inserted into it, which increases the friction of the knee joint. I guess this is so it can take the extra weight the tactical arms will put on the kit.

The Completed leg, minus armour
Here’s the completed leg minus armour, lots of detailing. Will probably dry brush these instead of lining.

Completed Leg
And finally here it is with the armour added. I love how bulky the knee and upper thigh are, it further adds to the samurai look, emulating samurai trousers which also flare out from the knee upwards.

Just a quick note, this is a straight build with a bit of nubmark cleaning, but my final kit will be lined, sprayed and detailed!
