I’ve been approved for a Japanese working holiday visa, will be flying out in just under 5 weeks!
I knew 2012 was going to be a year of huge change, but this takes the cake. The coming months will be a huge overload of amazing as I take in tons of festivals and other events around the country. The visa is valid for up to a year, so the plan is find work to continue funding my travels. Any job suggestions would be much appreciated.
After a number of unsuccessful JET applications it feels great to be finally making it to Japan under my own steam, but as excited as I am about this chance to pursue a dream, I’m also incredibly sad to depart my current job. GMG Radio have been a great employer, putting up with me for over 4 years. Its definitely a risk to resign from a stable job in this horrible economic climate, but this was an opportunity I just couldn’t pass up. I’m leaving on good terms though, so it’s my hope to work for them again one day.
We fly out on June 24th, so stay tuned for loads of posts as I travel Japan for the first time in almost three years – cannot wait!
cool news fella!
all the very best to the pair of you, have a great time and keep posting on here…..
Thanks bud! I’ll be posting on here like a madman I assure you 🙂 You found time for Gunpla as of late?
only a little. tried to enter the mac forum build, but its all got too complicated for me and times not being kind at the mo…..
too many projects not enough money….
Sorry to hear that 🙁 I know the feeling though! I haven’t found time at all this year which is sucky… not sure I’ll be doing much in Japan until we get settled either, boo.. the HG M1 Astray looks good though, might have to buy!
Nice to hear you are getting to work in Japan, I’m only slightly jealous. A lot.
If it’s any consolation I’ve had a good few years of disappointment thanks to a few unsuccessful attempts to get there 🙂 let’s see how long I last eh!
I’m sure you’ll do fine – just remember to limit the Sapporo Draft intake, and the rest will take care of itself 😉
That might be difficult! At least if I fall asleep drunk on the Yamanote line I should eventually end up in the right place 🙂
