While I was looking for the giant duck recently, I headed over to the Nakanoshima Park area where it was located last year. Despite this turning out to be the wrong place, it’s still a great area for an evening walk as the bridges are lit up in an array of colours.
In July, this area plays a key role in Tenjin Matsuri, with the opening Hokonagashi Ritual (Throwing the sacred sword) taking place nearby.
The tall buildings in the distance are the Osaka Business Park. Not too much over there for tourists, although there is a large dog cafe.
Some of the bridges cycle through a number of different colours, this one was going from blue to green – very relaxing.
Nakanoshima park sits between the Dojima and Tosabori rivers, making it a really peaceful place despite the nearby expressway. It’s a popular dog-walking spot too! Nearby you’ll also find my favourite tea room, Kitahama Retro.
Finally, Tenmabashi Bridge – it always looks fantastic at night!
