My Japan photo week draws to a close, and I thought it fitting to finish this with a picture of where my last Japan adventure came to an end.
Welcome to Shinjuku Southern Terrace, a little commercial area south of Shinjuku Station. There are a few shops here – Krispy Kreme, Starbucks, Eddie Bauer and a Franc Franc but as you can see from the picture the main attraction is the amazing light displays they put on!
This particular shot was taken in November 2008 Winter/Christmas display, they must have literally used thousands of lights it really was an incredible sight. As well as the lights other attractions included singing light-up Penguins and an interactive light and music display inside an amazingly intricate little dome.
Our hotel was just beyond the terrace so we dropped through daily, and on our last night spent a little time just sitting enjoying the lights and watching the world go by. It’s a great place and i’d enjoy seing what displays they put on in future years.
