Hello! I haven’t posted for a while so how about I punish myself with some disgusting ice cream?!

Actually, to be fair, as disgusting as they can be, I always enjoy the existence of strange and usual food items like this as they remind me what a wacky place Japan can be. This time it’s two new vegetable-based flavours from Häagen-Dazs, the Danish-sounding but in fact American ice-cream company.

First up, Carrot & Orange flavour! The colour of this one is almost fluorescent, definitely looking a lot like the two tastes mashed together inside. When you try it, carrot immediately hits your tongue, then slowly changes to orange – it’s sweetened but the carrot still has a hard edge, the orange is refreshing though.

Tomato & Cherry on the other hand is much more regular looking, if I didn’t know better I’d think it was strawberry flavour. It’s much harder to pick out the individual tastes with this once, everything hits you at once and I physically grimaced while trying this weird sweet, creamy cherry and tomato amalgam.

I struggled to eat much of both of these tubs, they’ll probably sit in my freezer until the early hours of one humid August night when I’m desperate for anything cold. They set me back ¥257 at my local 7-Eleven(110ml tub), give them a go if you’re feeling brave!
